1. What morals are you exploring in your work and what is the reason for this choice?

In this website I have decided to only take pictures of females, the idea came to me whilst I was doing

my first artist, Petra Collins. Petra Collins is known for studying the mental health of females and how it is often dismissed, gradually, over the course of studying this artist, I began to realize all the ways that females were treated which had (over the course of a long time become normal). I find this a really interesting topic to discuss so I wanted to explore this through my work.

2. Why did I pick the artists that I did?

#1-- I chose Rosanna Jones because her concept was that humans are cracked or broken which is another argument I totally agree with. It also interested me how, in her collages, she rips up her images and puts them in a particular angle to make it look fitting to the composition.

#2-- I chose Petra Collins for I agreed with her argument that girl's mental health should be taken a lot more seriously, however, I also chose her because I was fascinated with the way her photos (the ones in her series 24 hour psycho)  made me feel; they made me feel slightly nervous and uncomfortable for I felt like I was witnessing raw pain.

#3-- I chose Andrea Koporova because I liked the way she played with lights  (and the net). I was also really intrigued by the way she uses something typically seen as ugly, wrinkles in this case, to make something surprisingly interesting, weird and fascinating. Her images reminded me of a holiday to the beach where the sun is shining in your face after a dip in the sea. I think the way she gets this effect was by making the subject of her photo really oily, perhaps with vaseline.

3. What colours do you use with each artist?

For Petra Collins I used bight vibrant colours like pinks, greens and purple ect. However with Rosanna Jones the colors are slightly dulled. With Andrea Koporova she uses the natural complexions of her models (who are usually white)

4. How do all your artists relate?

First of all the symbolism that each artist represents, that humans are broken. With Andrea Koporova this is less clear however in her dystopian portraits for they are like a twisted version of an apocalypse.

Second, Petra Collins manipulates light and Andrea Koporova does the same with shadow. Petra Collins also uses collages occasionally (like Rosanna Jones). Rosanna Jones, whilst recapturing her collages also sometimes uses flash (like Andrea Koporova) to make her images look more shiny.
