Experimenting with marbling
Annotation:

With these images what I wanted to achieve is to capture the marbling and the change to the original image. So when capturing them there had to be multiple pictures of one of the marbled images. In my opinion the marbling, although subtle, is very effective since when you look closer to the image it becomes very clear what has happened to change the original images into what it is now.
What I think needs to be done to the photos when editing them is I want them to be double exposed because I think that they would look better if the colors were shown properly among each other. Furthermore I find that most of the images are quite subtle in its actual state so I would also like to change the hue on a few of the images to create more of a contrast; also to see if they are suited with a different hue.
Overall I still think that these images work well together. Also the raw images are in very good quality, which helps because they can also be used as their own set of developments even without being developed.
Developments:

When editing these images what I wanted to be aware of is the use of color and also how the overall image would look in the end. In my opinion I find that in some cases I have over edited the images, however I have also found that I does reflect what I am trying to convey, which is the use of colors that change the overall theme of the image. What I have tried to change the theme to is to focus on the more feminine side of the images and how the use of colors express more emotion that can generally go unnoticed in some cases.
Raw images:

the reason why I have uploaded the images as they are is because I not only wanted to properly display the effects of the marbling, but also how they are successful without any changes to them. Overall what I have done is cropped the images so that there is no white lining around it; then I compiled all of them into the gallery that you see before you. In my opinion they are successful because of the way that the marbling blends in with the background but also stands out in the foreground with very vibrant colors. In some cases the ink did not work very well with the original (leaving large blots of color and concealing the parts of the image behind it), however I think that most of the images have made a good representation of Masie Cousins work and how she focuses on femininity with her use of warm and vibrant colors.
Process log:

When Marbling the images I had to use the guillotine first to cut out the shapes and remove any white edges on the photos. It is important that there are no whit areas becuase they do not work very well with Maisie Cousins style, also it does not look very appealing .
Later on I had to chose the color of ink that I had to use for each image. In my opinion I find it very important that the color stands out rather than have them blend in with the original image. In some cases the ink was not spread out in the water as much as I would have liked so rather than creating a light but prominent layer on the image it just created dots. My overall goal when marbling the images was to create cohesive set of images that would work well both as edited images and raw images. One of the challenges that I faced was making sure that the paper did not get to wet and the photo would thus be destroyed. However I think that I have successfully created very interesting images that work well together and by themselves.
