Unit 2 - Identity
Experimenting with Acetate
Annotations:

For this set of images, what I wanted to capture is a natural double exposure of both images; although one would show more since it would be on a lightbox. One of the main challenges with this photoshoot was making sure that both images were seen and there was none of the surroundings showing. The colors were very important, since if they were of the same tonality they might blend with each other too much, also if they were contrasting they might not look very good since the flowers might be too similar or overly saturated. Some of my favorite images are able to convey the similarity and complexity of the original artist (Annique Delphine) style. What I particularly like is the subtlety of the images, without it I do not think that the images would be as successful as they are. Overall I am very pleased with these photos.
Developments:

Similarly with what I have done with Mark Quinn I have mirrored the images, however this time I have not only done this on the style of Annique Delphine but I have also layered the images ( that were printed on acetate ) and captured images that now not only show the original image but also adds another layer that creates more depth to the image. For instance there is now a slight difference in the original image which could convey overpowering emotions which hide other thoughts. Overall I think that these images are quite successful and have a fair amount of contrast as well as compatibility among them as a gallery.
Annotation:

-
overly exposed
-
Too vibrant
-
Too saturated
For these images I have used both my Annique Delphine and my Marc Quinn images, and have placed them on a white peace of paper (which is visible in several of the images). In contrast to my previous photoshoots this gives the images a slightly translucent appearance overall. In some cases I have found that if the image has white highlights with a generally colorful image, since the colors get lighter (paler) the image will not look very good.
If I were to redraft these images I would make sure that some of the Marc Quinn images are not overly saturated and would edit them differently by darkening the original image on photoshop.
Developments:

I have double exposed these images to change the effect that the image. For instance The original images, although they worked well with the original artist, they are quite basic in terms of composition. In comparison with my other double exposure work, some of these are not as successful as the others. If I were to improve them I would have to make sure that the image are not already similar to double exposure since some of them did not have a very good outcome since they were probably double exposed before. Overall I think that these images are very cohisive since although they seem a bit complicated they still work overall.
