As a part of my mood board, my main focus rested on hidden identity. I have a rough idea for my first photoshoot. My first artist I am going to research, study and understand is Elena Oganesyan. This is my main focus as I like the aura of the distorted bodies. I picked this artist because I find long exposure interesting and I can see that any mistake I make when doing a photoshoot can turn out successful. In addition, to the idea of doing land exposure and using the body to hide the emotions, I also want to use collage to improve my skills in taking snapshots. Not only that, but to make it more exciting and striking.

CONCEPTUAL MOODBOARD

Personally, Identity is a persons characteristics and personality but also how they express their emotion. Being able to express and be fond of your characteristics or features can make you an individual person. That is what makes people them. Identity is the way we perceive ourselves. In a way where we understand what is going inside in our minds and bodies and also our exterior. Your identity changes from birth and onwards. You are not going to be the same. This can lead to you going into a shell and closing  yourself off from the outside world. This makes you not be able to show your emotions to anyone or even your family.

Talking about emotions made me think and use the concept of hidden identity. I think hidden identity can make you express many emotions through portraiture or collage. Being able to do this helps you feel free and not feel insecure as you are not hiding a variety of emotions. The theme identity is very broad but I chose hidden identity because it is fascinating how you are able to express through body language. For hidden identity, I could focus on portrait photography and experiment with long exposure, collage etc. For example cutting out a face and placing a different emotion in that cut or changing the hues to match the emotion being amplified. Therefore linking to hidden identity.

The human body is fragile yet so intricate, which fascinates me. This is because emotions can be expressed from different sizes of humans and still look striking and interesting as you discovering new emotions as you look at different interpretations of hidden identity.

CONCEALMENT MOODBOARD

With this mood board, I am showcasing my ideas of making photography and picking out artists related to hidden feelings and emotion. Using the idea of concealment can allow my future photography have a story line and a meaning behind it. in addition, the example of work seen on my mood board can also aid me into making photography similar to it. For example, taking certain aspects from the photographs. Such as, turning my images into black and white to add an abnormal feel. Also, the use of mix media ( thread, fabric etc.) Focusing on the body language and facial expressions can also make a big difference.
