Elena Oganesyan
Elena Oganesyan is a photographer who specializes in taking long exposure images. Elena is an artist who captures blurry portraits of people, creating a long exposure effect. Elena incorporates the idea of hidden identity throughout her work. She does this by incorporating long exposure in her work allowing the appearance of the model to be hidden. Elena's work consist of close up angles of the face which I will incorporate within my work and Elena also does a combination of angles when taking images of the people. For instance she takes pictures of side and front profiles to get all aspects of the body. Elena's photography includes a low key lighting and a soft effect with the lighting. This is shown as a harsh vibrant lighting. Most of her work has subtle soft lighting with the exception of a few vibrant colors here and then. Elena's portraits varies from an elegant to euphoric atmosphere. I feel as though some of her work portrays an elegant, sophisticated, long exposure atmosphere and other aspects of her work portray a euphoric, party, long exposure effect.
In my editing I will incorporate a series of black and white imagery and colored imagery. I will have an elegant affect to my black and white images and my colored will be more of a euphoric affect. I would also like to find images of lips an edit them on top of my images like Elena does. I would also like to incorporate a vibrant effect by increasing the contrast as Elena's photos are not dull but have either a subtle soft color within them or a vibrant pop of color which I will include in my work. I would also in my redraft or my further developments incorporate broken glass or a broken mirror in my images like Elena does. I think this will create a very dystopian suspenseful effect throughout my work.
Contact Sheet
In my contact sheet I have incorporated many close up angles to contain the full profile of my models faces. I have also shaken the camera to create a blurred long exposure affect. You can also add this blurred affect by editing it on top of your photos, however I feel it is more natural when you complete it manually. I have also used LED lights to create a purple and blue light. This light then creates a dark dystopian atmosphere throughout my work. I have also taken some pictures with natural lighting in order to have that elegant affect when I edit in black and white like Elena has within her art.

In my images I have increased the vibrancy and color to have a euphoric affect throughout my images. In one of my photos I altered the colors to my preference. I have also cropped certain images as Elena's work has more of a portrait effect throughout her work and I wanted to as well keep that consistent through my photography.
Developments in the style of Elena Ogensyan in black and white
In my images my work consists of Black and white portraits. In my black and white image I have increased the contrast and decreased the lighting to achieve a low key lighting a s well as a vibrant image. However with my redraft imagery will remember to increase the contrast even more so my photos wont come out so grey and more vibrant. I have also gone over with the brightening tool and brightened key features of my work. for instance the eyes would lighten so I could see the creases of the eyes.

In my images I have incorporated a mirror to create a more mysterious effect. I had my model hold the mirror an di included the back of her and the her face was visible through the mirror. However in order to have the long exposure effect through my work I shook the camera and had my model shake her face slightly so when I switch the mode on my camera from live to long exposure it would have a really captivating blurry effect to further my idea of hidden identity.

In my colored edits I have edited them by adding the color lookup effect. I would find a color which I think looked almost similar to Elena's work. I also decided to increase the contrast and brightness as throughout Elena's colored art it has a euphoric dystopian lighting affect and I believe the colors i have incorporated have that fun excitement effect that Elena portrays in her photography.
Developments in the style of Elena Ogensyan in black and white
In my black and white imagery I have included the idea of elegancy in my art. I have edited my black and white edits by turning them black and white and the searching in color lookup to change the filter for a more elegant and sophisticated effect. I have also edited the brightness and contrast by increasing the contrast and brightness and in the future I would like to edit my images by decreasing the brightness as the lighting are very harsh and bright.
Redraft Further Developments
In my further developments I have used a variety of techniques. For instance I have used double exposure and mirroring to further develop my art. For example I would pick two similar colored images and I would double expose them on top of each other to further my idea of hidden identity by adding two people in one. I also positioned where one image was bigger then the other but the smaller image was more visible than the smaller one. The mirroring effect was done by expanding the canvas and pasting another image on top of my main image. I would also expand the canvas to create a black boarder around my image.
