Unit 2 - Identity
PABLO THECUADRO
Pablo Thecuardro was born in 1992 in Zaragoza in Spain. He is a photographer and a collage artist who works for both commissioned and self initiated projects. He says his collages are expressions of the duality of our personality. Madrid-based artist and photographer Pablo Thecardro uses fashion editorials, some photos shot himself some shot by other photographers, to create something new. He creates abstract art by cutting given picture composition digitally as well as physically and in this way builds an extraordinary imagery.
When he was younger he felt inspired by Lara Jade, she is 3 years older then him, she was very advanced and professional. Lara jade is a British-born fashion and beauty photographer. In his handmade work he wants to reflect both our real personality as well as the person we want to be. The creation of a collage can be a long or even never ending process. You can use as many images you want and combine them in many different ways. He often uses different fashion images portraits to create these these unique art works.
Some of his pieces have been featured in publications such as Vanidad and other magazines. Pablo Thecuadro collages go beyond the simply combination of beautiful images; they include the concept of duality in the human being. His work is a deep, elegant and abstract exploration that brings back reality to the human essence.
May many assume that the execution of collaging is simple, albeit there is much more than initally meets the eye to this beautiful art technique. The interestingly abstract aesthetic is achieved by a sound understanding of composition and a smart, creative vision that is able to foresee the picture's entirety at the same time as only manipulating isolated fragments. Such complexed dexterities can be observed amid the aesthetically striking creations of photographer and artist Pablo Thecuadro, whose collages present fashion in a highly contemporary and idiosyncratic.
"the collages I make express the duality in the human being, who we want to be versus who we really are and what part of us we show to others", explains the upcoming master of imagery. "'collages Art' is a never ending process, you can put as many images you want together over and over again.
With the exploration into line, shape, and traditional form, Thecuadro is able to distract the spectator's observation from fashion for a moment and instead redirect both model and clothing into an innovative art formulation that retains a continuous gaze. An intoxicating symbiosis of fine art and haute couture is achieved by the artist extracting an assortment of images from modern fashion editorials, using both a knife digitally and physically. After tracing the contours of existing photographs, Pablo frequently keeps a thin frame as a graphic vector, leaving the resulting images as elegantly composed and visually arresting.
Pablo Thecuadro's collages are indicative of visual innovation. Using the malleable medium to evoke statements' push boundaries, and negative uncharted trritory he is pioneering a unique method that is truly clever and captivating.

Taking these photos were really fun. I really like the poses that I did and the nice clothing in the pictures. To not make the images so boring I added flowers to the images. For some of the images they have different lighting backgrounds. I really like the hand gestures that I did, because my artist has lots of hand gestures so I tried to do similar poses and hand gestures. I copied some of my artists poses since I really liked them
The ones that I have put an X is that I didn't like the pose for those pictures. For very few of the pictures I put the picture on an angle. For some of the pictures they have different lightings, I just wanted a plain white background nothing too busy.
The clothing choice that I chose was really nice, I don't really have fashionable clothes, but the images still look really good. the style that I did the photoshoot matches good with my artist.
cut out collages
These collages came out amazing, all of them look so interesting in their own way. I really like how I cut out the pictures . They were hard to cut out when I am cutting the images inside it does take long to cut them out but they are really pretty and cool. I also cut out some hand and flowers just to add something to the collages. My favorite cut out design is the ones that is wavy, They honestly look amazing. I also cut out my face.
I used a lot of inspiration from my artist, I really love how the artist cuts out their images thy are really cool. It looks like it could be on a front cover for vouge. that's how amazing his work is. I also tried to make the clothing as close as possible so it related to the artist.
when the collages are black and white it really make the images look really interesting. Because when I edited the images I increased the contrast it makes the collages 100 times better. So first I edited the images into black and white then i printed them in to A5, then I cut the images out
Film Camera Photographs - RAW Images
These disposable pictures are actually amazing. I also really like the kind of filter on the disposable pictures. I also really like the texture of the pictures, I choose a matt like paper. If I choose a glossy like paper it would show the lights onto the images since I had to take pictures of the disposable pictures. I am also loving the poses that I did and some of my friends did. and also the locations that we took the pictures are really nice places . I told my friends to do nice poses so it would fit my artist . One of my favorite images is the one that has me in it that have my hands in the air. I also love the one where my sister and her best friend are holding their hands and have their legs out it looks really cute. And my last favorite one is the the last image is where my friend is sitting on the bench. These pictures really do make the images look old and look like they were takin in the mid 2000's
I also like the choice of the clothes in this photoshoot . I didn't change clothes for this photoshoot it was just my casual clothes and also the other peoples casual clothes. My aim was to not show the faces in the photos to hide the identity. There was one object that my friend used to hide her face, it was a flower. I also thought it would look cute in the image. The clothes were just the right match the, The clothes are nice and bright.
The first image has a little bit of my friends finger in it. The button to take the picture was quite close to the camera. It was just that image that had my finger in it otherwise the image is actually really nice and also the pose is really nice.
EDITED PHOTOS
Once I have edited these images they are honestly really cool. The poses that me, my sister and her friend are really nice . whitening the people out is really cool, my favourite white out one is the last one. Its the neatest one that I have whitened out. For the images I decided to cute out the paper on the background because it would look more realistic without it . I also really like the locations and also the background. when I colour the people in white it also makes it nice because of the background
It is also really hard to edit the pictures because you have to use the quick select tool and it's hard to get the quick select tool around the fingers. However I managed to do it after persevering and not giving up. I also like the image when I put my hand around my head while trying to touch the flower. I really do like that pose and it looks really good once I edited it in white . There is another image that I also like and that is the one where my sister and her friend are holding their hands on the road. I think it looks amazing and very cool.
I will show the process on how I edited these images. I also did a few photoshoots where there were some flowers because I thought it would look really pretty once I have edited these images.
process

so first you select an image from your files. It should be a parson with their whole body.
Then you use the quick select tool and use that tool to go around the persons body.

To make the quick select tool easier you use the zoom in button so its quicker to use the quick select tool around the body.
This is what it would look like when it zoomed in and it makes the quick select tool bigger.

To make the the quick select tool neater you use the minus tool to make it fill that gap and use it for any missed spots.
Then you use the eraser tool to make the whole body in white

Once you have used the eraser tool your image should look like this.
Now to get rid of the paper, You now have to crop the image. You press the 5th tool. Then to crop the image you press the second tool.

Taking these photos were really fun, I added more different poses to make a change from my other photos. I added someone different to be my model, just to make a change to this redraft photoshoot. I added more objects to this photoshoot, I added a bag, a scarf and a gold necklace, just to make the photoshoot fashionable. I have worn different clothes for this photoshoot, more darker clothes. And for the background it is still the same lighting and the same location. I also still added the chair into the photoshoot because it looks nice in the photos. Adding the flowers in some of the photos makes the images look really pretty, I like the poses that me and my friend did with the flowers.
The ones that I have put a cross on is that I didn't like the pose. and very few of the images were too zoomed out because it shows too much of the other stuff in the background. I also used some of the poses that my artist did I really enjoy doing his poses. There is the one image that I really do like but it is zoomed out a little too much, but that is ok because will cut out the background.
collages
I found these images really interesting and cool in their own way. I really like the choices of how I put the images like that. I also like the way I over layered the images out and cut out the people. The girl in the collages is my friend and she did amazing poses for these collages. And this time I have put a black background instead of a white background I just thought of a change from the last collages. Also the collages look a bit spooky for some of them which I do really like. And the poses are from my artist and i matched some of his poses and thought of different poses for my friend to do.
So these pictures printed out as as a glossy texture so I couldn't add patterns or do wired stuff to the images because the texture pf the paper was to hard to do that, so I decided to rip some of the images out so it would have that rip look. and I cut out people. It really makes the images look really interesting.
I think I over layered a good amount i want to over lay them a lot and not too much, and they look really cool. I also had an idea to rip an image into four and use them so it would look like a puzzle
