Conceptual Mood-Board

Identity is not a one size fits all, it comes in various forms and expressions. How a person identifies is how they are most comfortable, it is when they are being their truest and most unapologetic self. The way we indulge in these expressions varies for every person as we all unique and independent individuals with preferences in which way we'd like to portray ourselves to the world. Characterization is a part of our identity as it is truly our character that shines above our physical representation, it is the fondness of that, that people remember and attach to your person. Another form of identification is emotion. It is a part of everyone, it follows us around with every decision we make, it moulds us into who we essentially are. Emotion is the steer behind the way we think, the way we respond to situations and is the primary we that we identify.

Personally, I believe identity is an ongoing discovery. It doesn't end as we are constantly learning about ourselves, we learn about our bodies, our minds, interests, dislikes. Everyday, we are uncovering our true identity without realizing it, minute actions that may seem insignificant at the time, become habits that make us who we are. There is a surge of comfort that comes along when you realize you are taking shape of the person you've always wanted to become. I believe that you can identify with more than one thing, you may resonate with external factors as well as internal ones.

My conceptual mood board focuses on femininity, sexuality and what it is like to indulge in your feminine side. It is also based on the urge to act more girly or more feminine. It is one of the many sides to identity. I am also going to be experimenting with lights and colour, using light to elicit and express emotions.
