UNIT 2 IDENTITY
MINDMAP AND MOODBOARD
When making this mindmap I thought of the first words that came to my mind when hearing the word Identity. I also wrote down my initial thoughts on my second unit, I thought of these words by looking at photographers who 'capture Identity' . When I first looked at the photographs that I searched online based on Identity, some of the most prominent features to me was the bold contrast between the focus and the background of nearly every photograph that I came across, very clearly stating what Identity that person had chosen. I think that this topic will consist of deformed, euphoric, bright and sometimes dark photographs. I think that there will be a range of contrast between the different types of photography regarding somebody's identity because your identity is usually unique to whoever you are as a person. I can infer this through the range of styles that the unit of identity falls into. Personally, I am most excited to explore more techniques and challenges when using photoshop and expand my knowledge of the different styles of photography.
When creating this moodboard, I tried to include bright and colourful photographs that showed what kind of style of photography I want to explore in this Unit. Most of the photographs that I chose either have writing in them or a collage - like composition. One of the biggest things that I would like to include in my next photoshoot are collaging and overlaying different images together. I am excited to try this composition and style of photography out and allow myself to expand my knowledge as a photographer.
