Identity

Second Idea
(Under the water)
Brief Explanation
As I already explained my second idea on my "Planning" page, here I will just summarize what I said and then bring my idea into real life. This small piece of writing is quite similar to the "Concepts" that I explained when created each of my three photoshoots in the style of my chosen photographers.
First of all, I will observe the media that I want to use. As I said, I want to print some of my images and then capture them under the water. To take photographs under the water I will not put my printed photos into the glass dish. To keep my images safe I will put them under the dish and then pour some water. To make my images even more exciting I can add some glitter or food coloring.
I also think that I will need to experiment with the lighting and camera angles. For example, I can use natural lighting as well as artificial. I am also thinking about capturing some of my images in the dark room using flash light. If I want to make my images really interesting I can also capture them from different angles. However, I will focus on the bird's eye view.
Similar Images

To give you the better understanding of what I want to do, I decided to create some examples of my idea. To do this I used Photoshop. This is not the exact thing
that I want to do but this is really
similar. To create this interesting
effect I decided to use an interesting
technique called "Double exposure". I
searched for images of water surface
and copied the best ones. Then I opened
one of my developments on Photoshop
and pasted the image of water. After
that I decreased the opacity and the fill.
This helped me to create a really
interesting effect. Now my image looks
like I captured it under the water. The
second layer (the image of the water
surface) also created a blueish shade.
To make the photograph look more
realistic I decided to use
"Hue/Saturation" and "Brightness/Contrast". After trying all these techniques, I am thinking of using them for editing my actual photoshoot.

Photoshoot
Now you can see the actual photoshoot for my second idea of my Final Piece inspired by all three of my chosen artists. Here you can see printed images captured under the glass dish full of water. In my opinion, this type of photography is really unusual and helps to present the fragility of human nature.

Contact Sheets

Here you can see four contact sheets for my photoshoot inspired by my second idea for my final piece. The main
concept of this photoshoot was to show the fragility of human nature, how gentle it is. This is the reason why I decided to capture my photoshoot using water.
If you take a look at these contact sheets you can see that I circled the most successful images. I believe that those photographs are the best because in my opinion there you can clearly see the rippled surface of water. However, through the water surface you can still see the printed images.
Developments
Below you can see several developments for my photoshoot. I did not edit my images a lot however, I increased the contrast, experimented with the brightness and also used the tool "Hue/Saturation". If you look at my previous gallery called "Photoshoot" you can see the original photographs. You can notice that some of them are a bit grainy and blurry. This is the reason why I decided to use the "Sharpen tool". This tool helped me to make my images more clear.

Highlighting Success

Finally, I decided to choose the best photograph out of my second photoshoot for the final piece. I believe that this edit is the most successful out of all my edited images because here you can clearly see how I followed all the concepts. These concepts helped me to convey the idea of how fragile the human nature is. For example, to capture this photograph I used glass dish full of water. I also added some purple food color to make the image more saturated. The color of the water is really charming. In my opinion, pink color is really intimate and also helps to present the idea of fragility. However, to create this vibrant color I also used a tool called "Vibrancy" and "Hue/Saturation" on Photoshop. I also experimented with the brightness and increased the contrast. All these techniques helped me to bring my second idea to the real life.
After I finish my third idea I will choose the most successful images from each of my three ideas. Then I will put them on my "Final Piece" page.
